According to IPHAN (Institute of National Historical and Artistic Heritage), Caraiva is the oldest village in Brazil. A paradise in the far south of Bahia, surrounded by the Caraiva River, the Atlantic Ocean and a Pataxós Indian Reservation. With streets of soft sand, very green and colorful houses, here time passes slowly, being the perfect place to contemplate every detail of nature. At dusk, the half-light ambience from the houses and shops offers even more charm to the village. Full moon nights are the most special. Accompanying your sunrise at sea is a guarantee of a light and energy show. Then just move to the riverside and enjoy the same spectacle on the Caraiva River. You can still enjoy and dance a forrozinho by the river, have a nice dinner among the gastronomic diversity that the village offers or have good drinks in Beco da Lua. How about?
